Commission Description

The Johns Hopkins Hospital commissioned over 70 artists to create hundreds of original pieces for their new hospital center, which opened in April, 2012.  The works appear throughout the public spaces of the complex, and add a level of interest and human touch rarely seen in a major medical facility.

I was commissioned to create six photographic collages for three locations in the hospital. All images were specifically conceived for the hospital, and the project theme of natural beauty and growth. They are intended to offer a meditative presence for viewers whose primary reasons for being in the building are likely to be physically, emotionally, or spiritually difficult.
